I didn't randomly choose where to get our colonoscopy, which seems like such a simple procedure.  I chose Dr. Padmanabhan (Dr. P) because of the great feedback and commentary I read about him over multiple reviews.  Now I'd like to share our own experience to help you in your research.  For reference, we selected Dr. P through ColonoscopyAssist, for patients without insurance.  I imagine those with insurance will have no issue selecting him as a provider as well.

2.5 weeks ago.  Our first consult, pre-colonoscopy.  Dr P was very friendly and professional, explaining the prep and process and answering any questions we had.  Great bedside manner for any specialist.

1 week later, day of colonoscopy at a busy medical center.  Pre-procedure, no concerns or issues.  Afterwards, probably one of the most difficult and terrifying moments of my life.

Dr. P was extremely discreet in pulling me aside to a private room (as she was coming off anesthesia) and had a conversation about what he found with a hand-drawn illustration to help me process mentally.  He walked me through the detail ... but simply, in her colon, there was a very large mass (of which he took many biopsies, that was almost certainly cancer) which he couldn't remove in the colonscopy.

As I was reeling through fear, panic, emotions and what-if questions for this person that I love, Dr. P gave me exactly what I needed to reorient myself.  Explaining the seriousness of the finding, potential next step options for her and recommended timing.  I was looking for some optimism, but an initial diagnosis is not the place for that with cancer ... it needs to be centered on taking things very seriously, being strong and focusing on next steps.  And Dr. P transferred that to me.
He said there is a possibility that she can live 5 years or more, but only after removal and post op cancer treatment.

He gave me his personal cell and mentioned to call/text him in a couple of days when the biopsy results would be available.  In the interim he initiated the process for a CT scan, through RadiologyAssist, confirming it was something we wanted to do.  He was concerned about potential spread to the liver or elsewhere.

When he got results of the colon biopsies, he called us and mentioned what we already prepped for, cancer.  We discussed our near term plan (less than one month) for surgery and post op treatment. On this call, he shared a story of one of his patient's positive outcome, post surgery / treatment, still living 15+(?) yrs cancer free, which was something we really needed to hear after the prior few days.

Once we scheduled the CT scan (happened a few days ago), we had follow-up texts from Dr P, focusing on contacting the radiology place for the CT scan results (we talked about doing bloodwork, but decided to do with broader surgery / post-op treatment out of country).

Yesterday he called back mentioning that the CT scan results came back clean on liver and no distant spread to organs from initial cancer finding.  Much needed news, thank God!  He mentioned that there are still potential details / issues identified at time of surgery, but after talking to us more was able to help us feel lighter than the worst case scenario we were fearing.  We still have a journey ahead but are being hopeful and positive, which Dr. P also kept reinforcing with us.

Chances are your colonoscopy will come back with little to no issues and there are plenty of providers available to schedule with.

For me and my loved one, I'm so glad that we chose Dr. P.  He is extremely competent and knowledgeable, but more importantly with the situation we had to deal with, he was perfect.  Dr. P has the ideal delicate balance of seriousness / toughness and empathy / compassion that helped us navigate this past 2.5 weeks and stay positive / hopeful.  His communication style couldn't have been more helpful.

Everyone made me warm and comfortable felt I was in good hands
I woke up and my gallbladder removal surgery was a great success
I’ve been suffering with a burning sensation on my side and always scared it was my liver

I recently had a laparoscopic hernia repair performed by Dr. Padmanabhan, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the very first consultation to post-op follow-up, Dr. P displayed a rare combination of surgical expertise, professionalism, and genuine compassion.

I recently had some symptoms that made me concerned about a possible hernia and needed to see a surgeon quickly. After calling around, I was frustrated to find that no one in my area had availability for at least a week. While searching online, I came across Dr. Rajesh Padmanabhan (Dr. P) and saw that he had excellent reviews, so I decided to give his office a call.

The person who answered was incredibly helpful and kind. Even though Dr. P was in surgery and the next available appointment wasn’t until the following week, she said she’d check with him and get back to me. A couple of hours later, she called to say that Dr. P would make time to see me that same day — I was honestly surprised and extremely grateful.

When I went in, Dr. P was calm, attentive, and clearly very knowledgeable. He took the time to really listen, did a careful exam, and immediately ordered a CT scan, which I was able to get done the next day. I felt like I was in excellent hands from start to finish.

It’s rare these days to find a doctor — and a team — who are not only clinically great but also willing to go above and beyond for a new patient. I truly appreciate the compassion, responsiveness, and quality of care I received. Dr. Padmanabhan is amazing, which I knew he would be based on reviews. He called in my medication ahead of time. He was very thorough and answered every question. My surgery went very smoothly and quickly. He reassured me everything would be okay but also made sure I knew I could reach out if I had any concerns. Amazing bedside manner. Definitely would recommend him. Also, his staff are all so sweet and helpful as well.
