Rectal Abscess Drainage Cost Without Insurance in Arlington, TX
Cash price: $3,600 all-in. A rectal or perianal abscess is a painful pocket of pus near the anus. It needs to be drained, and Dr. P offers drainage at one flat cash price.

Every DRP Surgery cash price is one flat number covering the surgeon, facility, anesthesia and pathology. No separate bills later. The initial consultation and evaluation is $200, and your exact procedure and price are confirmed at that visit before anything is scheduled.
What is a rectal abscess?
Most anorectal abscesses start when a small gland just inside the anus becomes blocked and infected. The infection collects into a pocket of pus under the skin or deeper in the tissue around the rectum.
Antibiotics alone usually do not clear an abscess. The standard treatment is to open and drain it.
Common symptoms
- Constant, throbbing pain near the anus that is worse when sitting
- A red, swollen, tender lump near the anus
- Fever or chills
- Drainage of pus
- Pain with bowel movements
A rectal abscess can get worse quickly. Seek urgent care if you have fever, spreading redness, severe pain, or if you have diabetes or a weakened immune system.
How drainage is done
Dr. P makes a small opening over the abscess, drains the pus and relieves the pressure. Most patients feel significant relief right away. Deeper abscesses may need to be drained in the surgery center under anesthesia.
In some people an abscess leaves behind a small tunnel called a fistula, which can need its own treatment later. Dr. P will check for this at follow-up.
Recovery
Most people return to normal activity within a few days. Warm sitz baths, keeping the area clean and avoiding constipation help healing. Dr. P will see you for follow-up to make sure it heals fully.
